Georgios Chatzichristos

Georgios Chatzichristos is a Network and Information Security Officer at the Operational Security Unit of the European Union Agency for Network and Information Security. His activities revolve around cyber security training, operational planning, crisis management, policy-making, and resilience. His daily activities include collaboration with other EU institutions to enhance cooperation and unify efforts for enhanced cyber security in the EU.

Mr Chatzichristos is a retired Commander of the Hellenic Navy. His previous assignment has been at NATO’s Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) as the Plans and Exercises Cell leader of SHAPE’s Cyber Defence branch. He has participated in the core planning team of NATO’s Cyber Coalition exercise for a number of years, and currently is a core planning team member of the Cyber Europe exercise. He holds an Engineer’s Degree and a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, CA, and a Marine Engineer bachelor’s degree from the Hellenic Navy Academy. He has been a Navy Instructor in electronic warfare and computer networks for over a decade as an assistant professor at the Hellenic Navy Academy.
